In Shibamata
I visited Shibamata Darumaya to return the Daruma doll that had served its purpose. The sky was a clear, piercing blue, and the late afternoon sun was wonderfully soft and comforting. I enjoyed some delicious dango(sweet dumplings) and green tea at Takagiya, the same place where I had the nerikiri (kneaded sweet paste) wagashi (Japanese confection) making experience last summer. It is a town with warm-hearted people.
