Sansankai: A Year in Review (Part 2)

March 30, 2025 – The 29th Gathering
Venue: Kudan Kaikan Terrace Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Attendance: 40 participants
We searched high and low for a venue where our guests could enjoy the cherry blossoms, and we were fortunate to find the perfect spot at Kudan Kaikan Terrace. The rain from the previous day had cleared, and under the full bloom of the sakura, our guests were delighted by the breathtaking view.
Highlights from Our Guest Speakers
-
Ms. Lamia Al-Ashram (Saudi Arabia) Introduced to us by Tea Ceremony Master Tawayatani, Lamia previously served as our interpreter for a Japanese cultural event in Saudi Arabia. She shared her deep love for Japan—not just for the kimono and tea ceremony, but for the invisible spirit of "Omotenashi" (consideration for others), which she finds very similar to the Saudi Arabian character. This day, her partner from Sweden also joined us in traditional Japanese attire. It was a wonderful reminder for us Japanese to take pride in our heritage and actively engage with the world.
-
Ms. Kaori Ozawa (Intestinal Rhythm Therapist) Her journey began in the nursing field, where she witnessed the many digestive struggles caused by medication side effects. Since then, she has dedicated herself to researching the link between the gut and overall health. I have experienced her treatment myself, and it is truly surprising how such a gentle, soft touch can improve one’s physical condition. I highly recommend everyone try it at least once.
-
Mr. Kazumi Muraki (Carbon Dioxide Researcher) Starting his research at the age of 11 with the conviction that "CO2 will save the Earth," Kazumi is now 25 with 14 years of research under his belt. He has already realized the technology to turn CO2 into fuel and demonstrated the machine for us. His dream of reaching Mars in 20 years is steadily becoming a reality through his research. Our very own Dr. Ito (Director of Bancho Oral Surgery) has already volunteered to go to Mars with him! We are lucky to live in an era where such dreams come true.
-
Mr. Kentaro Jimura (Developer of "Benking") Through his work handling customer feedback, Mr. Jimura realized the dire need for better sanitation in disaster zones. This led him to develop "Benking," a specialized portable toilet. He continues to volunteer in disaster-stricken areas to improve hygiene environments. At the venue, we had a hands-on demonstration of the assembly, and I was so impressed that I signed up to purchase one on the spot.
A Day of Connections
The book sales for our speakers were a huge success. During lunch, everyone had the chance to introduce themselves, and seeing the guests actively networking during the breaks filled me with joy.
To our speakers and all who attended, I offer my heartfelt gratitude for making this such a memorable day.
