Keishou-waso

Keishou-waso

"Keisho Waso Narai" is an experiential program where participants learn about, experience, and pass down Japan’s traditional clothing, such as kimonos and yukata.
The program goes beyond simply teaching how to wear traditional attire—it also delves into wa no kokoro, the “spirit of harmony” that underlies Japanese culture.
Participants explore the emotions woven into each stitch, as well as the history, meaning, seasonal customs, gestures, manners, and language that bring these garments to life.

Rather than simply listening, "Kensho Waso Narai" offers a participatory, hands-on learning experience.
It engages all five senses—sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch—allowing participants to deeply feel and internalize each moment.
Ultimately, it seeks to awaken not only these senses but also the intuitive “sixth sense” of the heart.

The Spirit of Learning (Manabu Kokoro)
A participatory, hands-on approach that encourages engagement of all five senses—sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch—to fully experience each lesson and awaken the intuitive “sixth sense” within the heart.
The Spirit of Connection (Tsunagu Kokoro)
To receive traditions and teachings with gratitude, and pass them on mindfully and sincerely to the next generation.
The Spirit of Refinement (Tashinamu Kokoro)
To take pride in being Japanese, build self-confidence, and nurture a warm, graceful character.
The Spirit of Togetherness (Tomo ni Aru Kokoro)
To share wisdom and knowledge with mutual respect, supporting one another in personal growth and harmony.
