Today, we welcomed Shamisen player Shinroku to the studio.

From the very beginning, our host Mr. Suyama—who practices Kouta (traditional short songs) and Shamisen himself—was absolutely fascinated. His eagerness to hear the performance was so intense that I’m sure the listeners could feel it through their radios!

Shinroku shared that his journey began eight years ago when he heard a Tsugaru-shamisen performance for the first time at Inokashira Park. His reaction was incredibly swift; he negotiated for lessons on the spot. This bold decisiveness was a surprising side of him, given his gentle and calm way of speaking.

It is precisely this proactive spirit that has allowed him to build a vast network of connections. We were all moved by his story of achieving the "impossible" feat of filling a 2,000-seat venue to capacity. The studio erupted in applause at such a remarkable achievement!
